FOLK GROUP OF SONG AND DANCE " JUBILAT" ŚWIDNICA

The Folk Group of Song and Dance “Jubilat” was founded in 1975, on the initiative of Alfred Galant, the then director of Świdnica`s Railway Carriage Factory, and the municipal authorities. At that time, it was conceived as the factory amateur dancing ensemble.The first-night performance, showing the programme entitled “From the Minuet to the Rock`n`Roll”, took place on October 23, 1976, and had been prepared to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Świdnica`s Railway Carriage Factory.

Since then, for over 40 years, the inhabitants of not only Świdnica but also other placesin the Lower Silesia as well as places in Poland and abroad, have had the opportunity to applaud the artists, continuously improving their performance skills.

In 1981 the patronage over the “Jubilat” group was taken over by Świdnicki Ośrodek Kultury (Świdnica`s Cultural Centre) and has continued up till now.

Although originated in the Lower Silesia (south-west Poland), the main objective of the “Jubilat” group is to cultivate the folk traditions of all regions of Poland, to promote and draw from the abundant resources of the Polish folk culture, and thus to rescue from oblivion its impressive heritage.

Throughout its 40-year history, the “Jubilat” group has created a number of complete programmes, to mention but a few most successful:

PIEŚNI I TANCE NA KRAKOWSKIM RYNKU (Cracovian folklore),-20 minut

PIEŚNI I TAŃCE KSIĘSTWA WARSZAWSKIEGO (national dances – the-15 minut mazurkas and the polonaises),

WESELE LUBELSKIE (wedding traditions of the Lublin region,-20 minut south-east Poland), in 1980 granted the press award at the Polish Folk Festival in Konin,

ŻYWIECKIE GRONICKI (folklore of the Carpatian mountains, south-25 minut Poland), in 1986 1st prize winner of the Regional Folk Festival in Ksiaz Castle,

KUJAWSKIE ZADUMY (folklore of central Poland),-15 minut

ŚLADAMI PIASTÓW (folklore following the historical Amber Route from south-west Poland to the Baltic Sea),

TANCE SLASKIE (folklore of Silesia, south-west Poland).-25 minut

The “Jubilat” group has constantly participated in numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, has given a countless number of concerts and artistic tours, has been distinguished with a lot of diplomas and congratulatories, among others from Ministry of Arts and Culture, regional and municipal authorities, administrative and educational alike.

The latest significant achievement is to have been granted the membership of C.I.O.F.F. ,in December 2005.

The “Jubilat” group has won the hearts of the audiences not only in Poland. The tours abroad include the neighbouring countries, such as Germany or the Czech Republic, but also Austria, Italy, Korea, Bosnia and Hercegovin, Montenegro, Serbia, France, Great Britain, Greece, India, Denmark, Slovakia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Portugal (some of them on regular terms), where the performances always met with an exceptionally warm reception.

The outstanding artistic level of the “Jubilat” group has been reached throughthe involvement of its ordinary members, but also thanks to the highly professional contribution of its directors and instructors, to mention but the most dist:
